European imports of frozen squid from China have fallen by 42% in the first half of the year, although the average value of the product has remained stable.

The EU imported around 8,000 mt of frozen squid from China between January to August 2020, down 42% year-on-year, according to data published by the European Market Observatory for Fisheries and Aquaculture Products.

In week 36, the import price per kilo remained stable relative to 2019 figures, but it is now noted that the average value is increasing week by week.
